After The Rain

 

 

    A lot has happened to our family since my last post, we lost someone very dear to our hearts very unexpectedly. A few days ago, an Anthropologie parcel that I ordered weeks ago arrived, but the joy of receiving beautiful things was now lost in the midst of our fresh grief. But the shipment came with a watercolour postcard depicting the tranquil waters after a downpour. Perhaps we may never emerge from the storm unscathed, but I'll learn to look for the rainbow after the rain. R.I.P.

 

    最近家裡發生了很多事情，親密的家人在意想不到的時候離開了我們。幾天前收到了很早前訂的Anthropologie包裹，可是卻再也感受不到收貨的喜悅。包裹中附上了一張水彩明信片，是平靜的雨後景緻跟寫著"After the rain"的文字。也許失去的悲傷無法彌補，但我也要努力前進，期待雨過天晴後的彩虹。

NOTES

    I've had a much needed hiatus this week, chillin' out at a seaside resort for a couple of days (if you've been following my IG @bonjourjasmineblog, you might have known from those epicurean shots). A rather secluded spot, it is exempt from the throngs of tourists that usually flood the beach during the summer. I felt like I was on some private property, enjoying the solitude of strolling along an unmanned seaside, listening to the song of the ebbing waves and taking in the salty sea spray without the pandemonium of holidaymakers. I guess a vacation sometimes need not be full of outgoing fun, it can also be a rare moment of reflection as you stop and smell the flowers.

    這週我終於找到一點時間來個小渡假，在一個偏僻的海邊渡假村過著吃喝睡的廢人生活（有在發摟我 IG @bonjourjasmineblog 的朋友大概從照片看出來了 XD）。因為地點偏僻，海邊少了熙熙攘攘的暑假旅客人群，顯得格外平靜。甚至有種身處私人海灘的錯覺，傾聽浪花拍岸，呼吸海風汐汐，享受著一個人漫步海灘的悠閒。我想，渡假不一定總需要熱鬧刺激，它也可以是旅途累了，停下腳步沉澱靜思的美麗時光  :)

    A midweek medley of the little things in life. Lately, I've been thinking about getting a pixie cut, but the risk of a disastrous outcome is too great to comtemplate. In any case, I'm sure the melting hot weather has everything to do with my change of heart, and I'll most probably regret it when the winds of autumn beckon.

    週中的一點幸福時光  <3   最近又開始動起想剪短頭髮的念頭，而且想剪超短的 pixie cut。不過我覺得剪出來變成災難的風險實在太大了 XDD  反正我肯定突然想剪的念頭跟現在熱到快融化的天氣有莫大的關係，到了秋風瑟瑟的時節我一定又要後悔了 :P

In the Wild

    Awaiting a rare half-day leave in a week full of operations and clinics. Also, trying to find time to complete my next Style Guide article, a post with beige and nude themes and some new stuff I'm currently smitten with :)

    正在等待著充滿手術與門診的一週中，難得的半天假。然後也在努力找時間寫下一篇的 Style Guide 穿搭文，大概是會有裸色系單品跟一些最近熱愛的新戰利品的陽春文 :)

    Bonne année 2013 ! It is a bit unfortunate that I have no use for a New Year's Day outfit as I have been spending the day on-call in the Labour Room. To make it up to you, here's a tiny sampling of photos I took in late November when I went to KL for some sort of ... wacky med course :P   I hope you've had a memorable celebration!

VIVA

 

 

    This afternoon has been spent in the pleasant company of VIVA, a Dutch magazine the lovely Lisanne has sent me as a gift for being featured in their cape article. I do not know a single word of Dutch to be honest, but I had a great time translating some of the curious-looking recipes online -- you never know what they might turn out to be!  :D

 

 

 

Sunday Morning

 

 

    This morning I'm really pleased. My sister brought some lovely persimmons over (though my imp of a niece has not the least bit of appreciation for them and spat them back out) and my favourite football team won with a nice timely comeback, whoop!

 

    Tonight we're going to my sister's place for dinner and then probably watch some DVDs with lots of weird unrealistic martial arts going on. There goes the leisurely (and, because of the rain, utterly unproductive) weekend. See you soon, I hope, with haul in tow !

    Seriously, how cute is this?! Super Mario and Darth Vader taking the subway, queuing no less!! Sorry for the lack of posts this week, though. I planned to do a cat-themed post but my cat tights were missing, assumed lost in the mail  :'(
